Who is responsible
This policy covers this website and the messages you send me about a project. “I” and “me” mean Club, the independent web developer who runs this site. I am the one responsible for your information (the “data controller”). You can reach me at [email protected].
What this site collects
Nothing, on its own. This site has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no accounts. It does not set cookies and does not store anything in your browser, which is why there is no cookie banner.
The brief builder runs entirely in your browser. What you pick there is not sent anywhere until you choose to email it to me yourself.
Services this site loads
To display properly, this site loads a few files from other companies:
- Fonts from Google Fonts (Google)
- The smooth-scrolling script from the jsDelivr network
As with any web request, those providers see your IP address and basic browser details when your browser fetches the files. The company hosting this site may also keep standard server logs. Each of them handles that under its own privacy policy.
When you contact me
If you email or message me, I receive what you send: usually your name, your contact details and what you write about your project. My email is provided by Gmail, so Google stores those messages on my behalf. If we work together I will also hold whatever content and access you give me for the build.
How I use it, and why I am allowed to
- To reply to you and prepare a quote, because you asked me to
- To build, deliver and support your project, because that is our agreement
- To keep records such as invoices, because the law requires it
- To keep my business running and protect it against disputes, which is a legitimate interest of mine
I do not sell your information, I do not share it for advertising, and I do not use it for marketing unless you ask to hear from me.
Who I share it with
Only the services needed to do the job, for example my email provider, or a hosting or domain provider for your site, and only what they need. I may also share information if the law requires it.
Where it is processed
The providers above may store and process information in other countries, including the United States. They do so under their own legal safeguards for international transfers.
How long I keep it
I keep messages and project files for as long as they are needed for the project and for support afterwards, and keep records such as invoices for as long as the law requires. If we do not end up working together you can ask me to delete your messages.
Keeping it safe
I take sensible steps to protect your information and limit who can get at it. No method of storing or sending information is perfectly secure, so I cannot promise absolute security.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, ask me to stop or limit using it, or ask for a copy you can take elsewhere. Email [email protected] and I will answer within one month.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights under your local privacy law, such as the GDPR in Europe and the UK or the CCPA in California, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
This site is meant for people looking to hire a web developer. It is not aimed at children and I do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
